Honestly, who doesn’t love guacamole? I know there are super convenient store-bought options, however…I really, truly, firmly believe that everyone needs a good guacamole recipe in their arsenal. Guac is amazing, it is insanely healthy and even more insanely delicious. You can (and should) eat Guac with literally everything. Toast, eggs, chicken, tacos, crackers, chips… the list goes on and on. It’s the perfect side, spread, and dip. Personally, I eat guac with everything. However, my favorite way to eat guac is on a taco, sipping on a margarita. All you need is a few ingredients and 10 minutes. That’s it.

The Health

Avocados are amazing little bundles of health and joy. They’re full of vitamins, healthy fats, loaded with fiber, and actually contain more potassium than bananas. We love avocados, you can’t eat an avocado and not feel healthy. Obviously tomatoes, limes, garlic, onions, and cilantro have their fair share of health benefits, too. Basically a bowl of guac is one big bowl of healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium, deliciousness, and all sorts of other great things.

Customizing your Guacamole Recipe

Adding a little extra (or a little less) garlic, lime, or jalapeño is something you should definitely try out. Personally, I love this recipe, it took me some time to get the ratios perfect for my taste. However, guac is a very personal love affair and one that should be perfect for you. The only thing I’d recommend is making the recipe, letting it sit in the fridge for about an hour, and then judging it. The garlic-y, lime-y goodness really shines after it had some time to sit. Then, adjust to make it your perfect bowl, if you hate tomatoes? leave them out. Got some extra cucumbers? Put them in! I love putting all the produce in my fridge in here, I often add celery, cucumbers, and spinach for some extra health and extra crunch. Also, it’s a great way to use up produce that may be going bad soon.
